Now we are headed to Hoa Lu, the ancient
capital of Vietnam 968-80 & 980-1009.. |
They are putting in big roads but until they
are finished you can enjoy the countryside. |
I am on the back of motorbike enjoying the
countryside without any tour buses or tourists. |

It was my most favorite part of the trip. |
Steps leading to the temple on the hill. |
The first remaining temple, Dinh Tien Hoang. |

| |
Restored in the 17th century. |
And is dedicated to the Dinh dynasty. |
Statue of Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang. |

| |
People pray, leave offerings of money and
light incense. |
Outside the temple. |
Leaving this temple to go to the next one. |
| |
| |
Again, I like these rock formations. |
This temple has a statue of the Queen. |
The ancient citadel of Hoa Lu was destroyed.
All that remains are these two temples. |
