November 17th, 2006
We are back from our
annual six month trip to S.E. Asia. There is nothing better than
travel to open your mind, your heart, and your appreciation. As always we made our
regular stops in Thailand and
Bali, and spent two fun and
interesting months in Vietnam. From out of the blue came an
opportunity to teach Meditation in Myanmar (formerly Burma) so at
long last we were able to fulfill our dream of traveling there
(photos coming soon). It
was a blessing, and what a treat to travel first class, and get paid.
It is sunny and cool here in Florida right now. Actually one of my
favorite times of the year. We are working on our 2007 retreats, and
the first will
be in Florida right after the first of the year. We are only
about a mile from the Intercoastal, and three from the beach.
The sunsets are gorgeous this time of year, and it is a great place to get away.
If your New Years
resolutions include things like getting healthier, stronger, more
flexible, eating more nutritionally or empowering yourself in other
ways, our workshops are designed just for that. They can be the
start of a healthy good time. Or, a reminder to help you refocus on those good
habits you already know about.
Using Hatha Yoga and the Astanga Primary Series Sequence,
Meditation,
Pranayama and Yoga Nidra we will begin to recalibrate
the body and the mind. As you strengthen, tone and balance you will
also move into a more relaxed state, and find mental clarity and
peace. A cooking class will also be included. And we will have a license massage
therapist available should you want a little extra nurturing, and
pampering.
Your mental, physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing is truly the most
important thing in life. When these things are in sync there is
nothing we can not do, or accomplish. By using the tools available to us, like yoga,
meditation, walking, bicycling, other activities or a combination,
each of us can maintain that
wonderful state of balance, peace and happiness.
To your good health!

2007 Yoga Retreats
We are currently working out the
details and dates for all of our 2007 retreats. January thru March
these will be in Florida. May thru July we would like
to add Vietnam and
India. And we will be back in Bali and Thailand
August and September.
Your input is of great value as we plan these retreats. In order to
host a retreat we need a minimum of 10 people, a maximum of 16.
Where would you like to go? What dates? Which country? For how long?
Would you like to show up and do nothing? Or, are you looking to
book everything yourself and just show up for the
workshops/retreats? What is your budget?
These retreats are really a 'Once in
a lifetime Experience'. We would love to have you join us, and look
forward to your feedback.

We have had so many retreats in
Bali and Thailand and each is so very special and unique, it is
really difficult to make a recommendation. Usually participation
in a specific retreat location has more to do with the time someone has
off.
However, if you are a bit flexible on times and
dates, and have the luxury of considering either, then take a look
at our photo galleries to see which
location inspires you the most.

To Your Good Health-Relaxing
with Asana
Is it possible to relax in your Asana
practice? Asana is the use of very specific physical postures. This is the foundation from which everything else is built. In fact, without the other techniques being applied,
Hatha Yoga is little more than step or gymnastics. Only through the use of
asana,
vinyasa,
bandha,
pranayama, and
drushti can the ultimate benefits of yoga be gained.
In yoga there are hundreds of postures. This is essential in order to penetrate the complex and subtle depths of our neuromuscular system. Basic postures work more superficially. The more complex the posture, the more deeply you work. It is counter productive to try and master the more complex ones before the basic tensions have been released by the more simple Asanas.....read
